In the solver manager go tools/export and select an appropriate format.

Thanks!
I am currently forming grids of a kaplan turbine in Gridgen to simulate in CFX.Is there any specific way to make mesh to run in CFX?

There is no topology limitation on mesh by CFX. Even you can run the mesh with non matching periodic boundaries. However limit on the lower angle is 20 deg, check it out in the CFX help

Sounds like you need to do the CFX tutorials. They explain how the basics work. These come with the CFX installation.

Hi
I have my boundary conditions now but when I put the physics definition and clicked next, there's an error saying region name "unmatched "was not recognized. Can you tell me when this error occurs?thanks

hi

sorry for the above question.I am new to CFX actually to CFD.So getting lil difficult to understand. Ghorrocks,as you said I'm going through tutorials and it's helping me a lot. However,I came across a confusion with the reference pressure and total pressure.I have a head of 10.41ft with pressure as inlet boundary condition. Is total pressure a net head rise over atmospheric pressure?IF yes then what should be the reference pressure? I dont know if this is an appropriate question or not,but i would really appreciate you if make me clear about this.

The reference pressure should be set at a representative pressure in the simulation. In your case that could either be atmospheric pressure, or maybe atmospheric plus a 10.41ft head. Total pressure includes the contribution from the flow velocity - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stagnation_pressure
