Hi you,

I'm doing a simulation with a compressor model. This model includes the fulid inside the compressor and the solide parts such as casing, impeller and so on. I find it's so strange that whenever I want to run this model, the solver failer even without running. The information in the solver monitor is put here:

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
Starting the ANSYS CFX Solver on brutus3.ethz.ch using the command

/cluster/apps/ansys/v121/CFX/bin/cfx_submit_job -W 8:00 -n 8 -M-
3500 -indirect-startup-path "/cluster/work/mavt/lgu/Try Whole/wh-
ole_model_0526_002"

Please wait.
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
An error has occurred in cfx5solve:

Indirect start method returned non-zero exit code
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
An error has occurred in cfx5solve:

Indirect solver job failed
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+

Could anybody give me some suggestions or analysis that why it happened?

thank you in advance
Selina

You have a problem with your indirect startup system - PBS, LSF, where ever you are running.

And I bet the space in the directory name "Try Whole" causes grief. Never put spaces in file names or directories of UNIX/Linus machines. And it is a bad idea on windows machines too.

Hi, ghorrocks,
Thank you for your suggestions. Could you please explain in details what's the detailed peoblem of my indirect startup system? How to correct the system?
BTW, I can run other models on cluster server through submitting the job in my windows system

Thank you so much for pointing the error of the director name. I changed the name and without any other modification, it's running now
