Hello
I'm using ANSYS CFX v13 to simulate the fluid flow and conjugate heat transfer in a rectangular duct. I want to plot the heat flux distribution on the duct bottom wall, so -in CFD post- I create a line on the bottom wall and plot the built-in variable "Wall heat flux". The results I'm getting show that the heat flux is zero everywhere, which is not true (obviously!). I followed the exact same procedure in ANSYS CFX v11 and the flux distribution I got was perfectly normal. It seems that I should do something different in CFD-post v13 in order to get the heat flux distribution. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance! |

Are you sure your line is on the wall? Wall heat flux only exists at the walls so if your line is not on the wall it will not return values.

I checked the line and it is on the wall. The odd thing is that I get values for the wall heat flux, but they are all equal to zero. If the line is placed anywhere else than the wall, I don't get any values at all, which is logical.
