In default domain we define the mesh stiffness. Does the mesh stiffness interfere with the displacements ?????
Thank you. |

It is a weighting factor on the mesh smoothing algorithm. So I guess, yes, it does "interfere with the displacements".

The mesh stiffness doesn't change the motion of the boundaries (unless the boundaries are unspecified, then it can have an indirect effect), so different stiffnesses give the same flow solution. If your mesh quality remains OK then there's no need to change the stiffness. If the mesh folds or the quality becomes poor then a different stiffness may help. For example increasing the mesh stiffness near boundaries produces a stiff boundary layer mesh (i.e. it moves with the boundary rather than getting compressed).
