Hi everyone,
I tried to install ansys12.1 on WindowsXP Professional. I can start the Workbench, Fluent, ICEM, but CFX doesn't work, it appears only the icon for few seconds and no windows open. If I try to start it from the command prompt the error message is: Can't locate loadable object for module Win32::Job in @INC (@INC contains: C:\Pr ogrammi\ANSYS Inc\v121\CFX\bin\/perllib C:/Programmi/ANSYS Inc/v121/CFX/tools/perl-5.9.5/lib/MSWin32-x86-perlio C:/Programmi/ANSYS Inc/v121/CFX/tools/perl-5.9.5/lib C:/Programmi/ANSYS Inc/v121/CFX/tools/perl-5.9.5/site/lib/MSWin32-x86-perlio C:/Programmi/ANSYS Inc/v121/CFX/tools/perl-5.9.5/site/lib .) at C:\Programmi\ANSYS Inc\v121\CFX\bin\/perllib/CFX5/Win32/Commands.pm line 71 Compilation failed in require at C:\Programmi\ANSYS Inc\v121\CFX\bin\/perllib/CFX5/Win32/Commands.pm line 71. hi!
had exactly the same problem on one of my pcs. tried to install ansys four times - got the same error after each installation. found a solution after several days trial and error. i compared the content of the folder c:\program files\ansys inc with a pc where cfx works well by simply using the command "dir /b /s > dir.txt". obviously the installation routine of ansys forgets to copy some files (no mather if you install as user administrator or as a user with administrator rights) i found a difference in the folders C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v121\CFX\config and C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v121\CFX\tools\perl-5.9.5\site\lib\MSWin32-x64-perlio i took these folders from the working installation and copied them to the pc of the failed installation. maybe this worked because the two pcs have the same operating system (winxp pro 64 bit) and similar types of cpu (intel dual core). i hope this can help to solve your problem. have a nice day, Martin |

Hello!
Thank you very much for helping me. Your solution could work also in my case! At the moment I reinstalled Ansys 12.0 and CFX works. If we decide to install again Ansys 12.1 on the pc with windows xp pro, I will try your solution! Thank you again! Have a nice day, you too. Claudio |
