Hi,
CFX V11 and V12 runs fine on 64 bit OS, both Windows and Linux. Attesz is wrong about CFX 32 bit not running on a windows 64 bit system. You can run CFX 32 bit on windows 64 bit but of course this is pretty pointless as you will have the normal 32 bit restrictions on simulation size. Glenn Horrocks |

Hi,
I have never tried to put 32 bit CFX on Win XP x64. Why would you? It just means you can't take advantage of the point of being on a 64 bit OS in the first place. Just install the 64 bit version and it works fine. If you are talking Linux then you need to put the 64 bit version on a 64 bit OS. There is no 32 bit compatibility in Linux for a 64 bit OS that I am aware of. Glenn Horrocks |

mortazavi.. you do realise the 32 and 64 bit versions are two different dvd's (you should find these and the rest of the linux versions dvd's in your ansys package box)

Hi,
The installation instructions are on the DVD. You can also get the installation instructions on the ANSYS website on the community page I think. But as for most Windows software you just stick the DVD in and it should go - you make have to run the autorun.exe or something on the DVD but nothing complicated. Glenn Horrocks |
