yes, it is possible to simulate a 2D geometry; you need to make a trick
Suppose that your 2D geometry is in the XY plane, then you extrude the geometry in the Z direction putting only one element (two nodes). Now you have a 3D geometry with one element in the Z direction. Finally to simulate a 2D problem you need to specify symmetry condition in the two XY planes. Thats all |

Hi,in CFX-11 WHERE IT IS OPTIONS, i have 3D geometry in ICEM file,i exported in CFX-11,IN THAT HOW TO EXTRUDE IN Z DIRECTION, where it is options,which option should considered. Thankyou

In ICEM or other mesh generator:
Suppose that your 2D geometry is in the XY plane, then you extrude the geometry in the Z direction putting only one element (two nodes).
