Vectorial animation of results in CFX

hi everyone! I'm animating some simulation results in CFX. I animate contours for temperature and arrow-heads for velocity. I used a fixed 0.02 sec timestep (it's a transitory) and I wrote a .trn for each timestep, so I have at my disposal 50 trns per second. Using CFX post and Keyframe animation, the quality of the arrows is not satisfactory: they appear confused and faded. Using high quality animation doesn't help. I am quite sure it depends on the use of a raster image format for the video.
Now, the question. I was wondering: since it is possible to save a vectorial image of each timestep, maybe it is possible to create a vectorial animation (like a flash animation) of the vectorial images. Has anyone of you ever tryed\succeeded\failed in doing something similar? I would be very grateful for any kind of help (included telling me it is not possible at all, I would stop trying). Thanks for reading Attilio |

Hi,
Don't use the animation gizmo in CFX. It is hopeless. On the animation tool click on "save frames", I think it is under the advanced tab. This will save the raw frames in a high-quality format. Then use a animation tool to make the animation yourself. I would be VERY surprised if you got the vector animation working. That sounds like a lot of work for little reward. Glenn Horrocks |

hi Glenn! Thank you for replying. Which software would you use for the animation? I thought about doing what you suggest but I supposed the result would have been the same. Thank you Attilio
