Roughness Benchmark

Hi... I am interested in the validity of ANSYS CFX results for simulations that include a specified wall roughness. Does anyone have information on benchmarks that have been performed, especially those including a heat flux applied to the volume? Are there papers out there that cover this topic? Have you performed a benchmark yourself? If so, would you be willing to share your results so I can get started on my own benchmark?
What I am mostly interested in is the validation of a simple geometry pressure drop analysis for either a tube or parallel plates when compared to an analytical solution for several different roughness values. Thanks |

Hi,
On the ANSYS CFX Community site there are several validation reports. Glenn Horrocks |

They used to have validation reports there. I can't find them now either, they disappeared in the ANSYS website "upgrade". Talk to CFX Support to get access to them, or if you find them post a link please!

Glenn et al,
I've just stumbled upon the "Fluid Dynamics Verification Manual" while working on an unrelated activity. It can be found towards the end of the general "ANSYS Help System" program that contains help files for all of the ANSYS products in an installation. For me, it was accessible as an "ANSYS Help" program icon in my "ANSYS 13.0" program folder (Windows 7). Best Regards |
