Dear colleagues; I need to know how to do a blade element on CFX 11 First suppose that should generate a mesh of the disk of the propeller, right?. Then you should have the data themselves as the swirl, rps, and so on. the question is how to generate the imputs in the pre of a blade element in CFX.??

Thank you so much,

Hi,

CFX has lots of tutorials on modelling rotating machinery. It also has software designed to assist designing blade geometry (Bladegen I think it is).

There Glenn,

Is not the first time that We have some contact. I'know that the genesis of CFX is for TurboMach., bat I need to do a propeller and I don't know if the same special set-up on pre is the same for prop and TurboM.

Do you know if I have to include swirl, rps, some airfoil imputs, etc?

best regards

J.

Hi,

CFX can model propellers just fine. You have to generate the blade geometry somehow, then make the propeller part of a rotating domain. If you only want the propeller in isolation this is all you need but if you want interaction with non-rotating components you need to have a second stationary domain and a GGI to join them.

You have to specify the motion of the propeller and the flow coming onto the propeller.
