hello,

i would like to do multiphase analysis (air+water) both as continuous phase (Eullarian) with solid particle (particle tracking ).

how i can model it ? whether its homogenious problem or inhomogenious ?

Hi,

Sounds OK. If the air and water have a clear separation then use homogeneous, if they mix into bubbles/mist then go inhomogeneous. Then stick a lagrangian particle tracking model over the top.

hello, Mr. Glenn Horrocks

i am grateful to you for your reply. but cfx is not supporting 2-Eulerian fluid with solid particle tracking. i have to do now air as dispersed flow with some particle diameter. do you have any idea about amount of error in solution ?

Hi,

A quote from the CFX documentation -

When combined with the Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase model, only a single continuous phase may contain particles. There is no exchange of momentum between particles and a dispersed Eulerian phase.

So it looks like you will be able to do it using lagrangian particle tracking.

Have a look at the CFX tutorials. They cover all the basics for something like this. They are available on the ANSYS Customer website.
