I'm still pretty new to CFX and CFX-Mesh, and I'm currently working on trying to learn more about near-wall mesh inflation and the turbulence models. I'm curious what some of you more expert CFX users would suggest for the mesh size and inflation parameters for a really basic case such as the following:
a 7mm diameter straight pipe, about 30 cm long with a 90 deg bend half-way through, with 23 deg C water flowing about .125 kg/s. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Hi,
Read the CFX documentation, advice for flow modelling. That simulation sounds like a general turbulence model will do OK, so aim for 20>y+>500, but find the exact number through a mesh refinement study. Glenn Horrocks |
