I generated mesh in ICEM and want to import it into workbench simulation, but I can not find the approach to do it. Does anyone give me a suggestion? thanks

i guess u wanna work with your own mesh on CFX-Mesh. Itīs a "name.cmdb" file. I found some bugs i think in ICEM CFD when i am trying to choose the 2D region. in CFX-Mesh (ANSYS CFX-v10 or 11) and CFX-Build (CFX-v5.6) i didnīt have this type of problem (bug, i guess). Other boring thing is that icem cfd is a little slow on quick pcīs with 8 GB of RAM (Atlhon or Intel Duo Core 2 or Quad Core) and too slow on older pcīs.

Sorry, Rogerio. I do not very understand you. My project is to simulate a model about blood vessel interaction. I developed fluid and vessel wall meshes in ICEM CFD. Then I import the fluid mesh in CFX v11 and define the parameters. All these are OK. Now I need to import the vessel mesh in Workbench simulation to set up the vessel parameters(B.Cs., materials, etc), but I can not find the arr approach which export the vessel mesh from ICEM to workbench simulation.
I can generate the Tetrahedrons mesh in workbench simulation but this mesh is not in good quality. I still want the Hex mesh from ICEM. Thank you |

You wanna export your mesh to CFX-Pre right. Go to output tab in ICEM, choose Ansys CFX and CFX for the solver and export it to CFX-Pre. I cant remember the name of tabs right now, but look through the forum it has been explained.

Hi,
I am also working on a blood flow simulation with FSI using CFX/ICEM/WORKBENCH. I'm having trouble finding tutorials on how to setup FSI simulations, will you be able to help me out on that? Thanks! CC. |

The .cfx5"meshing file is written in ICEM CFD. After you complete the grid, click the "Write" in ICEM CFD,then you should choose the ANSYS CFX solver to export mesh, so it will generate the.cfx5"mesh file that can be import in CFX-pre. |
