Boundary Conditions 2D foil

I have created a 2D mesh of a foil in a rectangular domain by means of a 2D planar block extruded one cell normal. I tried creating mesh subsets for inlets etc. but in CFX-Pre the only regions I can apply boundary conditions to are generic 2D regions or such. Is there a way in ICEM to specify regions for inlet, outlet walls etc.?
Thanks! |

Hi,
Yes, you can do that in ICEM. You define them as parts, not mesh subsets. Glenn Horrocks |

ok great thanks will try. But do I define the geometry (lines) as the parts or the faces of the elements?
Thanks |

Hi,
When you mesh the mesh on a face will inheret the part name of the underlying surface. Giving lines and/or points part names will not be seen in CFX-Pre as CFX does not use line or point elements. Glenn Horrocks |

Use Extrude Mesh tool in icem cfd, with 10 layers and 0.1 mm each layer, to make your 3D mesh!
