Hi, all. If i wanna take advantage of perl to run CFX SOLVER in batch mode, do i have to install perl? A folder named perl-5.8.0 is listed in the /cfx/shared. And perl.exe & perl5.8.0.exe can be found in this folder. Some commands, such as version information "$perl -v", can not be exceted. Maybe i have to install perl additionally, right?
All hints will be appreciated! Rikio |

Perl is by default installed with CFX as it needs perl. If you have an executable perl5.8.0.exe then the version is known (I think)

Thank you, Bart.
I am not going to just know the version information. It is only an example to indicate that I can not issue the command normally, i.e. no expected result comes out after command line input. Do I have to change something, such as environment variables? I have a book, Perl by example, in hand, but I have no idea how to use it. Maybe it is a piece of cake for you, but a obstacle for me Rikio |

Rikio, There are some good online resources for perl:
http://perldoc.perl.org/ I'm not a big perl programmer but it can be very usefull when using CFX. In your ccl you can build all kind of I/O and use most perl commands (read files, define variables, etc...etc). The ccl code is put through the perl compiler when you start your run. It's fairly easy to use and you can start with small peaces of code. Success Bart |
