Hi, I want to plot the rms value of fluctuating component of velocity. What variable should I select in CFX-Post? Please help. Thanks Kushagra

Hi Kushagra
Did you write statistics in CFX-Pre? If you have then you would find Velocity rms in variables list in CFX-Post. Usman |

Thanks Usman. Yes I wrote the statistic in CFX-Pre. But I am talking about the rms value of fluctuating component (u',v',w') not the mean value component (U,V,W). Which variable would represent the fluctuating component? Please suggest. Thanks, Kushagra

Kushagra you should find in the list of you variables "Velocity trn rms" and then respective components below it. This is what you need to plot rms values.
I hope you had selected rms values when you wrote statistics and not the mean values? Usman |

Wait, are you talking about turbulent fluctuations or the deviation from average values in a RANS transient run? The latter can be send to output when doing a transient run by specifying in the value list for your .trn files. CFX will not give you the turbulent fluctuations of the velocity components (it's a RANS code), I think.
