Hello,
I simulate a boiler. In this model, I have Propan/Air combustion and free convection heat transfer. I set the initial condition so that the air mass fraction(O2) is 1 and by injection of the Propan in the burner through the Eddy Dissipation model, a combustion happens. A part of the energy(80%) goes to water in a tank and the rest wastes through the exhaust. Also, fresh air should be provided through free convection. There is another way for fresh air in the system. My problem is, after finishing the calculation (after 1000 iterations), I get the error below. GETCORE stacktrace 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 2 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 3 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 5 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 6 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 7 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 10 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 11 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 13 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 14 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 15 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 16 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 18 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 19 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 20 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 21 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 22 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST Partition: 32 1 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT5_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST 2 SU_HYBARR, ,MASCON_MT3_FL1,ZN1 /VERTICES,LATEST +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Stopped in routine TRCPRT | | | | | | | | | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | An error has occurred in cfx5solve: | | | | The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. CFX has some very cryptic error messages. There is no list of what those error messages mean, so you have to try to figure it out.
If this is at the end of the run - then the solver should be getting the data back off the partitions and writing the results file. If you have a close look at the results file you might be able to work out exactly what step it failed at. Then you can think of what the problem might be - could it be a network problem? Or the hard drive is full? Or the solver does not have write permission? Or maybe it is something in CFX - have you used any CEL, user fortran or other customisation? Any complex models?

The calculation works well to the end. I send you the outfile. Perhaps you can find the reason. |

It is difficult to tell the source of the problem besides:
- It happens for a specific Domain, internally named ZN1 - It happens the same for all partitions and the same variable, MASCON --> Is it Mass Concentration? - It happens at the end of the run for a Standard file, correct? I would advise using an Essential file that does not contain derived variables such as (my guess) Mass Concentration. Report the issue to the Ansys CFX support line.

It looks like the crash happens when you write a backup file, not at the end of a run.
Opaque's comment seems to be the best you can guess at this stage. As he suggests, I would remove mass concentrations from your backup files. Or if you feel brave do not write a backup file at all and let the run complete and use the results file instead. Note that this error may then occur again when the run completes and it writes all variables in the results file. You will not know until you try it.
