i am trying to run cfx 11 on vista, but this error appears: "the applicaton has encountered an unexpected problem ... "fatal error...." i just want to simply run cfx on my laptop which is quite important for me. once in the forum, i was told that cfx works with vista, but,... does anybody know how can solve this problem.(pls do not tell me i have to change vista, because it is impossible for me) i would be grateful if you could possibly help me.

You need ANSYS/CFX V11 service pack 1. Also, you will need to give more details about the error before we can help. When does the error occur?

when i run ansys cfx 11, the luncher appears, but when i click on cfx pre, cfx post it takes a while and then: " the application has encountered an unexpected problem and will now terminate: aborting due to unexpected error: comm:error:RemoteEngineProtocol::sendInternal-A fatal error has occured during communication with the engine: socketError:Socket::socketSend-send:connection reset

Please report this error, along with the circumstances in which it occurred.

i have tried to write exactly what i see. i have also ICEM and autobench on my computer which work properly without any error. how can i get this SP1?

Hi,

Vista is not supported without SP1. That is the cause of the error.

You can download the service pack from the ANSYS customer website.

the ansys version that i work with is an academic version of ansys and i dont know Registration and TECS to enter the customer website. where can i get these?

I just found this post and the error described is the same as I am getting on my laptop, however Im running XP! Any ideas?
