Hi,
i want to know how can i do design modification in ansys cfx 11. for example, generating a 2d pipe with length of l and diametre d and then changing l and d to see the results. i dont want to generate 10 models (one model with variable features). i would be grateful if somebody tell me is that possible? regards, alireza |

Look up Ansys DesignModeler and DesignXplorer. They can be combined with CFX in Workbench to do just what you are trying to accomplish.

hi Alex,
do you think it works even for complex geometries. for example a manifold. thanks, alireza |

Hi Alireza,
I can't speak as to it's effectiveness; I've only just messed around with it a bit to see how it worked. If you keep the design variables straightforward things like lengths and diameters, and they don't vary too drastically, I would guess it would be fine. I would be most concerned with the mesh quality as the parameters were changing. Good luck! -Alex |

This problem involves with optimization, you can refer to some professional optimization tools such as modefrontier, isight-fd,etc. In addition, you should know something about how to make script file of cfx and its grid generator such as icem.
