I have a model with a sharp corner in it. Please see the link below. I am trying to get a tet+prism mesh around it. I have tried to mesh it with ICEM, but the mesh at the corner are either penetrating, jagged or overlapping as seen in the posted image. I get a good mesh in CFX-Mesh but I would like to knw how to do the same in ICEM. I have tried putting curve controls and have also tried putting points on that edge, but the results arent any better. Please suggest if anyone has any better method.

Hi,

I had the same problem after geometry import. Try to define a line at contact of these surface or redesign the surfaces with ICEM tools. These are my standard solutions for this problem. In special case decrease the mesh size. Good luck.

Just insert what's called a "thin Cut". Give the two surfaces different names, and select them from "Global Mesh Setup/Volume Meshing Parameters/Define Thin Cuts" - Dr. Flow Squad
