Hi There, I'm new to the ANSYS CFX software. Therefore, I would like to ask if anybody want to help me with this software. I'm used to use Fluent software. But ANSYS CFX seem vey different.
Can anybody tell me what is the process in ANSYS CFX which start from modelling until the post processing result. Thanks |

Dear Rashid,
I am also new to CFX. In my case, I draw geometry using Geometry Modeller and than create mesh using CFX Mesh. Both Geometry Modeller and CFX Mesh are available in ANSYS Workbench. Then, I use CFX, that includes CFX-pre for importing the mesh and setting boundary conditions, CFX-solver for running the simulation, and CFX-Post to see the results. Hope it can be helpfull. -OA- |

You can do many useful tutorials available on ANSYS CFX help menu. They will teach you everystep, starting from Design-modeler till CFX-Post. I think, there are around 20-23 tutorials available.

Try using Solid Works to draw you computational domain! Save as a igs file and after that, you will able to import in Ansys Desig-modeller.

Hello Agung,
Please tell us your problem in more detail. CFX could be used to analyze ventilation system in hospital rooms, flow field inside organs, etc. By the way, your name is so familiar to me, are you Indonesian? -OA- |

CT SCan/MRI or simulation by cfd. i confuse where i have to start? i hope you want explain me more detailed by email in agoeng_wp@yahoo.co.id students of aerospace engineering ITB indonesia

Agung,
I am not an expert in gas exchange in pulmonary system. But,I think it is interesting. The problem may be seen as a diffusion process of CO2 and O2 due to pressure and concentration gradient. I think you can start to make a model of lung system, complete with initial and boundary condition. May I know who is your supervisor? -OA- ex PN`98 akhyarsi_jp@yahoo.co.jp |

Hello!!
I am Chirag. I am currently working on an ANSYS CFX for simulating flow in reverse drum mixer. I have started learning this software and going through the tutorials. I want to simulate the flow in such a manner that rotating blades in clockwise will allow to churn the mixer and rotating it anti clockwise will get flow out of the outlet. The problem I am facing is there is only one inlet so hoew should I define boundary conditions? Can ANSYS CFX help to simulate flow in animating mode? Thanking you! Chirag Patel (CP). |

Tutorials on them are available on the ANSYS community website. There are also some tutorials as part of the installation.

Sounds like you want basic FEA stuff. This is the CFD forum so you are on the wrong forum.

Sounds like a straight forward FSI application. The tutorials show how to do this.
