Hi,
I am making a numerical simulation in the CFX-v5.6, of a solid with heat flux in one of the sides, in the transient heat conducting, for a total time of 100 [s] (it is not the time of cpu), with timestep of 0.1 [s]. I want to monitor the temperature distributions in 4 points (x, y, z) different, and of course, of the solid, called of points 1, 2, 3 and 4. How to make that the CFX v5.6 creates only one file of text or of the type .dat with the temperatures in each timestep for each point? I already created points 1, 2, 3 and 4 and already I made the chart of Temperature [K] (in each point) versus Time [s] in the CFX-Post (bmp file), but I wanted to make the chart with the numerical data of the temperatures in each point and for each timestep in the Excel software and later making a comparison with experimental data! The file would be thus, of Temp100.dat name: 0.0 29.000 29.000 29.000 29.000 0.1 30.132 31.999 33.142 31.935 0.2 31.372 32.120 33.154 32.112 0.3 33.418 33.210 34.332 33.234 0.4 34.655 34.532 34.452 33.345 ..... ...... ........ ....... ...... 100.0 123.122 134.342 117.543 121.486 PS: all the data would be in only one file! Thanks! Rogério Fernandes Brito. |

Hi,
Two ways: You can do it in the simulation using a monitor point. Then you can export the data from the solution (even as it is still running). You can do it in post processing in CFX-Post by creating a point and exporting the data at that point. As you have transient data you will have to do a little script to cycle through the timesteps and export the data. Glenn Horrocks |

I´ll think about it! Thanks for the moment!

How about this?

Hi,
That should do the trick. Glenn Horrocks |
