I want to plot mean axial velocity graph against the vertical distance in a backward facing step. In the paper they have normalised the velocity by u/U. I know big U is my inlet velocity, but how can i obtain u.

Hi,
This is easily obtained in CFX-Post. Generate a line object where you want the profile and export u velocity along the line. Glenn Horrocks |

Sorry i forgot to mention, this is for large eddy simulation. Can i use this method for LES as well which gives the instantenous velocity not mean velocity! Thanks

Just to add one more thing i have not written transient statistics in CFX-Pre either! I have saved trn files for every fourth time step though. How can i use this data to get my mean vlaues.

Usman - See my post to Maan a few threads down. Basically you can make a chart with respect to time in Post and have that collect the data for each timestep you have.
Hope this helps, -Alex |
