Hi everyone,

I'd like to plot the evolution in time of pressure along a line in CFX Post. I have created the line in Location.
When I go to
Chart -> XY - Line, I have the line but when I try to plot in XY-Transient or Sequence the line does not appear in Location.

Do you have any idea why and how I can still plot the pressure along this line through time ?

Can you explain what you are trying to do?

If you have pressure at a point, and then you plot pressure at that point versus time you get a line graph (pressure versus time at that point). Is this what you want?

Or if you have pressure along a line in space (pressure versus distance along line) and then plot it versus time you get a surface (pressure versus distance along line on one axis and time on another axis) or an animated line (pressure versus distance along the line, and it evolves over time according to the flow conditions).

To jump to the answer - if I was doing either of these I would export the data from CFD-Post and do it in a more sophistocated plotting package like python/matplotlib, matlab or something like that. The charting tool in CFD-Post is pretty basic.

Hi ghorrocks, thank you for the answer.
I want the pressure versus time at a certain point but as you said, I exported the data to plot using matplotlib. It is indeed much easier.
