Is it possible to choose which equations the solver must solve and which not? e.g. I am running a 2D Analysis and dont want w-mom eqs to be solved.

You cannot do a 2D analysis. You can turn off equation classes under expert parameters (ie. don't solve energy, don't solve turbulence). But because CFX is a fully coupled 3D solver, you can't just turn off w-mom.

Hi,
Johnny is correct, the full 3D velocity equation and pressure solver is hard-coded into CFX and you cannot turn one velocity dimension off. The have been lots of posts on this forum about how to setup 2D analysis in CFX if you need some pointers. Do a search on the forum. Glenn Horrocks |

The 2D question comes up so often I have written a quick FAQ on it. This is just a quick thing to get started, maybe some of the more experienced people on this site would like to add to it.
