I am simulating a flow over an airfoil. I want to plot a YPlus plot to check the density of my mesh. But guess what i do not find YPlus variable in the list provided by CFX. What is going on here??

Hi,

You have to click the "..." button to access the less often used variables.

Thanks for your answer Glenn. I have clicked the specified button but YPlus variable is not there. Is there some kind of bug around that is affecting CFX?

I noticed a similar behavior some time back when I used a Free Slip wall (by mistake) everwhr apart from my inlet and outlet surfaces. I expected the variable to be listed, but couldnt find it.

Hi,

In CFX-pre > Output Control you can choose which variables that are to be stored from the simulation. Have you included y+ there?

I have also selected "free slip" surface for my airfoil. Probably this is the reason why YPlus is not appearing in the list. I real life when fluid flows over the surface, closest particles to the surface come to halt which is known as "no slip" condition. Therefore i should have selected no slip surface in the first place. Thanks for help guys!

I could even have done what Terje has suggested, so it was not such a big problem after all!! Thanks for your interest Terje.
