Mesh is created in blocking

Hi!
I'm an Icem Newby. I have a simple question. I try to create a Mesh in my geometry. But the mesh always appears in the blocking I created. This is what I did: 1. I created my geommetry 2. create block ==> initalize block 3. association of edge to curve 4. move vertex ==> move vertex 5. setting the pre mesh parms 6. toggeling pre mesh view on and then i see, that the mesh is in my blocking but not into my geometry. Is this a frequent problem? Does anybody know where/what i did wrong? I reapeted the steps again and again, but I always got the same results (mesh in the blocking)... Do you need further information? Maybe a screenshot? Thanks for helping!!! |

I noticed this myself, although I have not used ICEM for Hex meshing for some time. Suggestion: (The following may not be the "correct" way, but it seemed to work for me)... To see the mesh, activate your block volume and the "premesh" toggle. You should then see the surface mesh when selected. To write out the mesh, try right clicking on the "premesh" label and saving the mesh as strustured or unstructured. You can then write out the mesh by selecting the format desired and write as usual.

right click on the premesh and select project faces. If the option is no projection you will get meshes on the blocks.
