iso surface at a certain y+

I'm trying to create an isosurface or polyline at a y+ just oustide of the laminar sublayer. To do this I require the value of wall shear stress which by its name states that I can only get that value at the wall.
I could use Matlab to create points at every grid node on the surface and create a surface / polyline with the normal coordinates using the shear stress that the points on the wall. Has anyone else done this before or have any ideas as to how I may go about it? Regards Adam |

If you use the SST model then there'll be a variable called "Wall Distance" in the res file, which gives the distance to the nearest wall. I expect you could come up with an expression in CFX-Post to calculate you're own y+ value by making use of this variable. If you're not using SST then there's an expert parameter to force the solution of the Wall Scale Equation, hence get "Wall Distance" in the res file.
