Hello everybody. I'm having a problem. I want to calculate the average velocity in a specific part of a piece that has a complicate geometry. If I use a plane I can't set the bonds I want and I'm taking some zones that I don't want to include in the calculation. What should I do? Is the only possibility to put a surface in the geometry before mesh creation? I'll be waiting for your help. Bye.

I see what you mean, I had the same problem to calculate the mass flow at certain locations of my domain. I spent a lot of time trying to use the perfect bounds of my plane to not include other geometry. Finally it worked, but I don't think it's very practical to use planes and I don't understand, there must be another options but I don't know wich so that's why I'm joining your post.

Can you describe more precisely what defines the bounds you wish to use? Is it a geometric location, a function of the results, etc. There are some solutions that may not be immediately obvious (which I have posted before). The answer depends on what exactly you are trying to do.

Yes- it would be nice to have a "until boundaries is met" option with the planes cutting multiple domains. But the trick is to create a contour plot and colour it with a coordinate. Then create a new user surface based on that contour, and do the math on that plane.
