Hello,
I'm doing automatic backups of a simulation and after the writing of each backup, the solver gives the following message: >Bounds error detected >--------------------- >Variable: Turbulence Eddy Frequency >Locale : Inlet Does anyone know what this means ? In the inlet plane I specified experimental profiles of velocity and turbulence. Thanks, Felix |

Dear Felix,
Turbulence Eddy Frequency, aka Omega is negative somewhere in the inlet.. Please check the interpolated numbers from the specified experimental values produce positive values. Opaque |

Hi Opaque,
Thanks for your help. I checked Omega at the inlet and the value is not negative but rather tends to infinity (1e30)in the near-wall region. It is not surprising since the turbulent kinetic energy profile (k) is stricly 0 at the wall leading to a division by zero (omega~epsilon/k). Do you think that this can cause any other problem ? I have trouble with convergence but in another region... Thanks, Felix |
