ICEM and CFX report different number of elements

To all fellow ICEM and CFX users:
I have run into an odd situation. The number of elements reported by ICEM is no where close to the number of elements reported by CFX in the .out file following a successful run. As an example, ICEM reports the number of elements to be 26,941 whereas the CFX .out file for the same mesh/geometry reports 858,859 elements. Both ICEM and CFX are version 11 (not the SP1 update). I tend to agree with the CFX number more, but any info regarding why these numbers do not match would be very appreciated. Thank-you very much for your time. |
