Anyone can help with ICEM export?
The parts defined in ICEM include 2-d shell elements, but when the mesh export to the ANSYS solver, all the parts defined in ICEM are changed to node parts displayed in ANSYS component, and no elements are included. So how could that happen? how can i make sure the parts defined in ICEM are remain unchanged in ANSYS component? Thanks! |

If you actually want the 2D elements (shells) then you need to specify those in the Parameters panel. Go to the 2D section and specify the element type for 2D linear (or quadratic) elements.

Thank myron for your replying at first.
You mean the menu properties->define 2d elements properties? I have already specified the parameters, but the export also did not include elements |

Is this in AI*Environment or ICEM CFD? (I don't have AI*Environment.) In ICEM CFD, select the Ansys solver > then open the Edit Parameters dialog. Here you specify the defaults for low/high order structural 2D elements (pick element type). Make sure that you don't ignore 2D elements when you write the mesh files.
