Hi Colleagues:
I want to know how to read a mesh generated by Gambit into Ansys CFX 10.0. Do I have to save the mesh in Gambit with some kind of special extension? wich one? Thanks again Juan Pablo Segura |

Dear Juan Pablo,
You can export the Gambit mesh into a PATRAN neutral file, or CGNS file.. Better yet.. If you use ANSYS CFX 11.0, you should be able to import a Fluent .msh file directly into CFX-Pre. Opaque |

Here is all you need to do.
You can read the .msh from Gambit to FLUENT. Then you need to initialise it. Then save it a PATRAN neutral file. Directly readable with all regions in CFX. |

Maybe you can export Gambit mesh into Fluent mesh file first, then import it to Flunet software, after that just export to CGNS file, finally it can be read into cfx-pre directly. Good luck!

No need to do all such long procedures. There is very simple way of doing it.
1. First select solver "Ansys" 2. Then define boundary conditions as "node" 3. Export your "mesh" from export submenu. 4. Your mesh will be exported with extension "*.cdb" 5. Now in CFX-pre while importing mesh select the "Mesh format" as "Ansys" and import the "*.cdb" file created in step 4. 6. Now you can work with it. Try it & let me know how is it! Regards Scorpion |
