Does CFX have a 'switch' to activate the Heat Flux in the Near-Wall Region or do you have to code the equations described in the solver theory yourself?
Thanks |

Dear Malcom,
Are you referring to the turbulent wall function boundary condition closure for the energy equation? The equations are already in the code, and are active when you select a turbulence model. Why do you think that you should code the equations separately? Opaque. |

I'm referring to equation 187 of the CFX-Solver 10.0 Theory where qwall = ((rho x Cp x u*) / (T+)) x (Twall - Tfluid), i.e. the wall heat flux model that approximates a heat transfer coefficient.

Hi,
That equation is automatically used when you select a simulation with a thermal field and a wall boundary condition which will result in heat transfer (ie not adiabatic). Glenn Horrocks |
