Default Periodic Wake Inlet Modelling

I am trying to apply a transient periodic wake profile at the inlet and am wondering about the best way to approach it.

I could use a user fortran routine to read in a data file and make velocity etc = f(x), and x = g(t) and feed that into the inlet profile or expression.

I have also thought about describing the wake as a fourier series and using that in an expression used by the inlet conditions.

Does anyone have any advice as how best to go about this.

Kind regards

Adam
