Hi all, I just installed icemcfd v10 in CentOS4.4 system , I can start icemcfd properly, but as I try to type in values (or texts)in icemcfd text field, then it seems that the keyboard not responding, I cannot type in any letter or number!!
My PC is IBM T40 . Does anyone know the reason? or any solutions? Thanks in advance Tina |

Thanks for your reply.
No, it's 32bit version of CentOS . The icemcfd can start correctly, can mesh, can import ...., just cannot type in any letter or number in text field! Even in my other PC(Desktop and laptop ) , all encountered the same situation. |

I also noticed this problem in Icemcfd but only in Workbench mode (RHEL 4.4 64 bit). Standalone works fine.
I dont have a solution. Perhaps its related to the LANG setting. |

Joe, thanks for your help! I've done many trings:
1. I use zh_TW, it fails! 2. I switch to zh_CN, it works! 3. I switch to en_US, it works! and I also found that, I don't need to boot system in en_US. I still boot Linux in zh_TW. but I just set environment variables before I execute icemcfd (sounds easier for me) The exact steps of my doing is: (I'm in Ubuntu Linux OS) 1. add these two lines in /etc/environment LANG="en_US.UTF-8" LANGUAGE="en_US:en" and mark out the original lines #LANG="zh_TW.UTF-8" #LANGUAGE="zh_TW:zh" 2. every time I want to execute icemcfd :I just $ source /etc/environment 3. then $ icemcfd -cfx perfect to work! |

And furthermore, I've tried many Linux distributions RHEL 4.x SuSe10 CenTOS 4.x Fedora Core 6.x Ubuntu 6.10
All have the same problems in zh_TW LANG ! But this is the way to overcome ! |

Another method,
before executing icemcfd , just $ export LANG='en_US.UTF-8' then it works also! |
