Lightbulb Output Controls for a Transient flow through a Francis Turbine

Hello everyone,

I have a Francis Turbine model design that I have to do Steady state and Transient analysis on. I have done Steady state analysis in 2 configurations (single passage and full passage). During that setup, I made some Output Controls like Shaft power, Turbine Efficiency, etc and all of them are based on Expressions that are defined by me as well.

My question is, whether I need the same Output Control as mentioned in the steady state analysis or for a transient analysis, a different set of Output Controls are needed? Do the formulae change?

Also, what should be monitored during the Transient analysis, apart from Turbine Efficiency and Shaft Power? What other variables are significant during the simulation?

Any help would be appreciated as I am currently confused regarding this issue. Thanks in advance!

What variables are significant depends on what you are trying to do. We have no idea what you are trying to do and why you are doing this analysis so we cannot say what is significant.

But an obvious place to start is to look at the variables you already have in the steady state simulation and see what they do against time. For instance have a look at how representative the time average of the transient simulation is against the steady state one.
