Hi,
I am simulating a cylinder(D=0.2m, L=0.8m) rotating at 34 rad/s immersed in a cylindrical volume of Air(D=1m, L=1m). The cylinder has two plates on both sides to simulate the effect of endplates and the cylinder is only rotating. I have a value of y+ =2.5 and a good quality of mesh=0.7. The problem is that the solution is not converging even if I keep it running for 12 hours, it keeps oscillating arround 1.5*10-4(I am using steady state). The aim of the simulation is to determine the torque on the cylinder wall and then the friction coefficient Cf. Before simulating the cylinder with the endplates the solution converged and everything worked good. Can anyone help me please regarding the convergence problem. Enclosed the geometry image and the residual screenshot. Thanks, Angelo |
