GAMBIT mesh to CFX

It seems to me that there is no direct way to use a mesh that was created in GAMBIT in CFX.
The only way which worked for me is to import the mesh to ICEM and export it to CFX. But this only worked for small meshes. ICEM used to crash down importing the GAMBIT-mesh when the mesh exceeds a certain size. There must be another way. Thanks for your help. |

One more way I can suggest is to open the mesh in Fluent and export it as CGNS file. You can then import the CGNS file in CFX.

I think CFX 11 can read in a Gambit mesh as well.

I expected some improvement there since the Ansys guys bought FLUENT/GAMBIT. Unfortunately I still have CFX-10.0. I'll try the fluent trick Manoj introduced to me.
I think it's way easier to use gambit to create a structured mesh than using ICEM - especially for easy geometries. But I guess that philosophy. |

I personally like to work with gambit if the geoms are very easy. This is how i managed to work with CFX using gambit. I will have the mesh , open it into tgrid, and export patran neutral from it. This way i am able to see all the boundary conditions in CFX.

It has already been answered quite a few number of times. Here is a link you will get what you need. http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/cfx_...cgi?read=16701 |
