RAM usage limit under Windows 64bit / ICEM

Hello,
I use ICEM now in a Windows XP 32bit system with 2GB RAM, but the computer is 64bit capable. Under Windows XP 32bit the maximum size of a single process is 2GB, but the "theoretical" limit of a 32bit aplication is 4GB. My question is: if I execute ICEM 32bit under Windows XP 64bit, can ICEM use more than 2GB of RAM? Thanks in advance, flga |

My opinion is...yes. I didnt try it, but I think. In a 64bit system the biggest advantage is the memory usage. You can use more physical and more virtual memory. Now I use 4 Gb phys. RAMs and 14 Gb virtual memory in my 64 bit system. My largest memory usage was approx. 6 Gb memory with workbench, and in other case CFX 10.0...in both case I've used 32bit version of these softwares. Workbench has 64bit official version. Now all softwares goes to the 64bit's most powerfull way! This is only the way, to handle large models and difficult processes on single workstation (if you havent got clusters).
