Two questions about data analysis

Hi there, I have two small questions for you. I hope you can help!
____________________ First, I would like to know if it is possible in a macro to extract only the name of the analysed file (i.e. "result.res") without the whole path? I currently use the line below which gives me the name including the unwanted path (i.e. "...\path\folder1\folder2\result.res"): ! $sim = getValue("DATA READER", "Current Results File") ____________________ Second, I would like to produce some clearly understandable image files and would need to create a "surface of velocity". Let me explain. I created in CFX-Post a plane on which I can add normal velocity vectors. What I would like to do is to create a 3D surface joining the tips of these vectors. Is that possible? ____________________ Thaks a lot for your help, Felix |

To answer your second question, a user surface may achieve what you want to do.
USER SURFACE: User Surface 4 Offset Direction = 0 , 0 , 1 Offset Mode = Variable Offset Type = Translational Offset Variable = Velocity w Option = Offset From Surface Surface Name = SURFS 1 B B END |
