Good day,
I am setting up a porous domain for a cylindrical screen. The data that I have for this screen is that it has a 48% of opening area and .125 thickness. What I am doing is modeling the screen as a solid ring with the dimensions of the cylindrical screen. I have an excel from where we can obtain the viscous and inertial loss coefficients. This excel is based on test data for the screen. At a certain point, ansys CFX ask me to input the "Volume porosity" and here is where I came up with the following doubts: 1.- If I already specify the viscous and inertial loss coefficients (linear and quadratic coefficients), which are based on the thickness and open area of this screen. Why do I need to specify the volume porosity there? 2.- I am specifying a directional loss, which I specified that the streamwise is in the radial direction. Thanks in advance, P.P. |
