I have created a simple structured mesh of a 12x36x1 square duct in Gridgen with a small 2x2x1 additional duct to simulate a jet in cross flow. I meshed them as two blocks.
I am having trouble importing this into CFX. When I try to load the mesh file in CFX-pre it only gives me the options for importing in the drop down menu: CFX Mesh (gtm) CFX-Solver CFX-TASCflow CFX-BladeGenPlus CFX-4 ICEM CFD ANSYS In the CFX-pre manual it says that CFX will import Pointwise Gridgen meshes. Am I missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

Save your mesh as cfx5 mesh in Gridgen and try to import in cfx as cfx5 mesh.

Christina,
you should have the following additional import options: ... CGNS Patran Neutral, IDEAS Universal, GridPro/az3000, NASTRAN, Pointwise GridGen, User Import Are you able to scroll down the list to get your required option? Johnson |

No I do not have those additional options. I will have to do more research into why that is!
But I was able to export it in the CFX-5 format today! Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it! ~Christina |
