Hi,
I'm simulation a methane combustion. so i took the multi-grey methane radiation templet for radiation modelling. But how can i include the radiation effects of soot. I have a temperature dependend formulare but no weight coefficients. If i set the radiation properties at the material properties, they are ignored by the multi grey gases. Can somebody help me? |

Dear Barney,
You must modify the template to add the soot radiation properties.. I do not have the soot coefficients for the CFX template; however, the required modifications require the soot volume fraction, soot density, and those coefficients. Take a look at http://public.cranfield.ac.uk/me/me0...ons/sfpe97.pdf Dr. Rubini is stil active and may be able to provide you with additional properties information. Then, it is up to you to add them to the CFX template.. He can be contacted at Dr Phil A. Rubini Head of Computational Flows and Combustion Group Cranfield University Beds MK43 0AL, UK Tel: +44 (0) 1234 754649 Fax: +44 (0) 1234 750728 Email: p.a.rubini@cranfield.ac.uk Good luck, Opaque. |

Hi opaque,
do you know the difference between Multigrey and WSGGM? |

Dear Barney,
They are exactly the same model.. Former CFX-4.x users were used to the Multigrey name; however, standard literature refers to it as Weighted Sum of Gray Gases.. It is just a convenience for the transition..Multigrey may go away in future releases. Did you find the information for soot? Good luck, Opaque. |

Dear opaque,
Thanks for explanation. Unfortunately I got no response from Dr. Rubini yet. Best Regards, Barney |
