Hi
I'm trying to using PVM distrubuted parallel on 2 machine. i was followed the user manual step by step. before that, i nearly read and did all related sugeestion that publise in this forum but then still not successfull earlier there was problem with rsh but then it seem ok after using following command: rsh Jetpod1 cmd /c echo working After that i run the cfx solver using PVM Distributed Parallel and following warning come out: +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Warning! | | | | rsh connection to host JETPOD1 produces the following output | | before the output of the command: | | | | Terminal readThe handle is invalid. | | | | This may cause problems spawning parallel slaves, especially on | | Windows. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Warning! | | | | rsh connection to host JETPOD1 produces the following output after | | the output of the command: | | | | : | | | | It could indicate that an rshd service from a different vendor is | | running, which may not provide the necessary functionality. This | | may cause problems spawning parallel slaves. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ What confusing me is that the solver still running but using serial mode. then i tried manually to add slave node using pvm.exe i was used add jetpod1 command and this message come out: pvm> add JETPOD1 add JETPOD1 0 successful HOST DTID JETPOD1 Can't start pvmd Auto-Diagnosing Failed Hosts... JETPOD1... Verifying Local Path to "rsh"... Error - File /usr/ucb/rsh Not Found! Determine the path to the "rsh" command on your system, and edit PVM_ROOT\conf\WIN32.def to adjust the path for the -DRSHCOMMAND=\"\" flag. Then recompile PVM and your applications. Sorry for this long question, i had read nearly all thread in this forum and try everything that had suggested but still doesnt work. for info, i'm using CFX 10.0, win xp pro, and hp workstation, intel xeon please help regards, Zaidun |

Those warnings are just warnings, if the solver continues then you can ignore them. You said the solver continues in serial mode? There's no way the solver will switch from parallel to serial automatically. If you specified parallel and it is running, then it will be running in parallel. Hope this helps, Mike
