Hi all,

When I use rsh to check the connection between two nodes, it refusses connection with the following message

:Connection timed out rsh: can't establish connection

rsh is installed on both machines (master and slave).

I can ping the other computer, which means there is a network connection. Do I need any setup for Windows FireWall? Do you know a solution?

Did you go over the ANSYS CFX Producs Installation and Configuration Guide? There is a section for testing, modify and/or installing the rsh service on windows.

Also, you can contact your local support office.

We have been having the same problem, we can't find anything that has changed (since it had previously worked). We can rsh the slave to master and master to slave, but not slave to slave or master to master. Not sure of this is any help, but if we find out anything we can let you know.

Do try disabling the software firewall on both machines (master and slave) to eliminate that from the equation. If that doesnt permit connection to the remote RSH service, it may be authentication (implicit login, where you need to be logged in as the user account that is assigned to the remote RSH service (i.e. same user account on all machines, with appropriate permissions).
