How can I create mash for CFD if I do not have ICEM, is it posible or not or I have to have ICEM?

#1: It's "Mesh", not "Mash"

#2: You can create mesh for analysis in CFX using many different applications. There is a CFX Mesher application available as an option for Ansys Workbench. If you have a CFX license it seems likely that you have a license for CFX Mesh as well.

ICEM is only an alternative if you need more manual control of your meshes, since the CFX Mesher is highly automated and does not allow much tweaking.

I was writing to slow Thanks, I will check does CFX have mach option, but I am not sure. Now when I have CFX I can not do much, I am using Solid Works for 3d modeling and after that i need to mash that model and import it to CFX. I do not know how to do it?

CFX itself does not have CFX-Mesh itself. It must be purchased. So you have 3 options: purchase CFX-Mesh or CFX CAD2Mesh or ICEM. CAD2Mesh is simplified ICEM. And for translation of geometry can be useful to purchase Design Modeler (for CAD2Mesh it is included) with appropriate geometry interface (solidworks) so you get geometry in every ANSYS product. Or you can use other meshers like GridGen etc. But ANSYS options are somewhat better (for CFX). I prefer ICEM.

Thanks a log deLuther! Now I understand much better.

If I get Ansys Workbench, will I get with it and simple CFD masher? I will be able to integrate it in solid works and I will not need anything else to complete CFD model design, mash and analyses?

I think for complete solution you will need at least CFX-Mesh (license). Then you will get Workbench with CFX-Mesh(it is part of Workbench distributive)... but you only get integration with CFX and CFX-Mesh. Geometry modeling(Design Modeler) also comes with workbench distributive, but require license. Capabilities of design modeler is near SolidWorks (of course slightly worse). Workbench itself does not require any licenses. You must purchase licenses only for modules.

Thanks a lot this helped me to understand.

So to be able to do simple regular cfd analyses I will need CFX and Workbench?

Thanks!

Not workbench, but CFX-Mesh or CAD2Mesh (both with geometry interface). Choice depends on complexity of your geometry.

I understand about complexity of my geometry. My question is if I get workbench as application will it include in itself design modeler and cfd mash, so I will need a license for them. So one CD of workbench will solve problem and after that I can pursues license for modeler and mash?

Yes, Design Modeler and CFX-Mesh comes in WorkBench distribution. But you can not launch theese modules without proper licenses.
