Hi all
CFD-Post works verly slowly with postprocessing transient results files. It can take up to several hours for postprocessing transient run on 500.000 elements of about 40 timesteps with chart creation or volume rendering. For example, META can do it in less than an hour. I suppose it is because CFD Post loads file step by step at each timestep of postprocessing. Is there any way to accelerate it? |

I have never found CFD-Post to be a slow post processor. I find it quite fast. The mesh you talk about is not large, so it is puzzling that it is so slow. Chart creation and volume rendering are normally quick operations.

My mesh is 11 mln elements. I use volume rendering resolution of 250 planes with 0.2 transparency. I actually wanted to visualize smoke propagation in some big volume. I tried to run this postprocessing on 30 GB RAM machine and CFDPost almost dies. On a more powerful computer it took me 8 hours to create animation video of this volume rendering. I am still wondering if it is the normal processing speed for CFD Post. |

I don't use the volume render option much but I vaguely recall that is can be slow. So try a different method of showing it - either an isosurface or a cross section plane.
