Hi,all:
I want to simulate such model:let water of 100 [c] fill into a converted container with the inlet underside. The container is in vacuum, the pressure is 1000[Pa]. There is no outlet boundry condition here. How should implement this simulation? Any reply will be appreciated. Best wishes. jason |

Hi, Cannot understand the problem properly, Please elaborate a little on vacuum and pressure conditions. I am interested in your problem. Regards, VVJ.

Dear Vijesh :
I am simulating a foundry model. At first, As supposed, I use water as the liquid to fill the vessel. Indeed the vessel is made of sand and clay. The melting aluminium fill into it and concrete ,forming a casting . The vessel has an inlet underside, and the wall that made of sand just allowing the air flowing out. So the water can only flow into the vessel. Maybe I need to use the multiphase model and free surface model to simulate it.Expecting for your suggestion. The pressure of inlet is 4 atm, with the velocity of 0. and the pressure in the vessel is 1000Pa. Thank you in advance |

Hi, I have a an idea to solve this problem (the results may not be so accurate). 1.Apply inlet conditions on the inlet surface. 2. Apply WALL conditions to the bottom surface of the vessel. 3. Apply OPENING conditions on the perpheral surface of the vessel and say the pressure to be 1000Pa IN THE DIRECTION OF COMPRESSING THE VESSEL. Because, inside the vessel the pressure is 1000Pa. The vessel to be in equilibrium, the sand surafce must exert the equal pressure in the opposite direction. Try this. Regards, VVJ

Hi,VVJ
Glad to see you again. If set the Apply OPENING conditions on the perpheral surface of the vessel ,gas can flow through the boundary,at the same time, water,or aluminium fluid I will use at last, can also flow through it ,too. It's not what I wanted. set the pressure to be 1000Pa IN THE DIRECTION OF COMPRESSING THE VESSEL,How to set it,can you write in details? Regards, Jason |
