CFX5 dump file format?

Hi there!
My company uses both CFX4 and 5 a lot and I developed a custom post-processor for CFX4 a while ago. It enables us to load dump files and do various fly-throughs while animating data. Now, I have just been asked to do the same thing for CFX5 but there little (no!) documentation about the dump file format of CFX5. Is this information retained by ANSYS or is there a way to get some documentation about it? Many thanks. Eric |

Dear Eric,
The ANSYS CFX (formerly CFX-5) solver results file is a compressed database which requires a custom API to access the data in it. Neither the structure of the file, nor the API are documented as you mentioned. It will be great for every user what kind of visualization features CFX-Post could provide to make your (and everyone else) easier. Your best source of information at this point is to contact the CFX help desk directly.. Opaque. |
